What to Expect from a Commercial Photography Shoot with Me.

When you're investing in commercial photography for your brand, it’s important to know exactly what to expect. Whether you're a small business owner, a creative, or a growing team looking to elevate your visual content — I’m here to make the process smooth, collaborative, and genuinely enjoyable.

Here’s a breakdown of what the process looks like from start to finish when you book a commercial shoot with me.

1. Initial Chat + Discovery

Before anything is booked, we’ll start with a conversation. This can be a quick call, Zoom, or email exchange — whatever works best for you. I’ll get to know your business, your goals for the shoot, and what you’d love your images to communicate.

We'll chat about:

  • What your brand is all about

  • The types of images you need (e.g. product, lifestyle, behind-the-scenes, portraits)

  • Where and how the images will be used (website, social, marketing materials, etc.)

  • Timelines and any key dates

This is also the perfect time for you to ask any questions, share inspiration, and let me know your must-haves.

2. Planning & Prep

Once we’re locked in, I’ll guide you through the planning process. Depending on the size and type of shoot, this might include:

  • Creative direction and shot list: I’ll help shape a clear visual plan so we know what we’re aiming for on the day.

  • Location scouting: Whether it’s your workspace, on-location, or somewhere outdoors, we’ll choose spots that reflect your brand’s style and values.

  • Styling tips: I’ll offer suggestions on wardrobe, props, colours and setups to help everything look polished but authentic.

  • Schedule: You’ll receive a simple, relaxed timeline for the shoot so you feel prepared and in control.

I know that many of my clients are juggling a lot — I’m here to make this easy and stress-free for you.

3. Shoot Day

This is where the fun begins! On the day of the shoot, I work in a relaxed, natural way — no awkward posing or stiff instructions. Think of it as capturing your brand in action rather than “just” a photoshoot.

You can expect:

  • A calm, friendly atmosphere

  • Gentle guidance to help you feel confident in front of the camera

  • Plenty of variety — from detailed shots to wider storytelling images

  • Flexibility — if you have new ideas or a last-minute product to include, I’ll always do my best to accommodate

Most of all, you’ll be able to focus on being yourself and doing what you do best — while I capture the essence of your brand.

4. Editing & Delivery

After the shoot, I’ll go through all the images and select the best ones — the ones that truly tell your story. Each image is carefully edited in my signature warm, natural style.

You’ll receive:

  • A downloadable online gallery

  • A mix of orientations and crops, ideal for different platforms (think Instagram, website headers, printed flyers)

I usually deliver galleries within 2–3 weeks, but if you have a launch deadline, let me know — I’ll always try to work to your timeline.

5. Aftercare & Ongoing Support

I love seeing my clients use their photos confidently across their brand. If you ever need help resizing, choosing the right image for a campaign, or planning your next shoot — I’m just a message away.

Many of my commercial clients book regular sessions throughout the year to keep their content fresh and consistent — if that’s something you're interested in, we can chat about an ongoing content plan that works for you.

Let’s Tell Your Brand Story

Whether you're launching something new, refreshing your brand visuals, or just ready to step up your content, I’d love to help.

If you’re curious about working together, or you already have ideas brewing, get in touch and let’s start planning something great.
